When I finally admitted to myself that the day had come to get new windows fitted at home I don't think I appreciated just how difficult the decision would be. It was something that had to be done and the windows I had were certainly past their best to say the least. But new windows are such an investment that I didn't really know where to start for the best. I trawled the Yellow Pages and spoke to a few friends about it and whittled down my enormous list to a few local companies. Simple I thought, but the fun had only just started.

I began to make preliminary enquiries and arranged for a few reps to come to my home, show me what they had to offer and measure my windows with the aim of preparing a quote. The first arrived and whilst being very nice didn't seem particularly knowledgeable about the windows he was selling - why was that I asked " myself? I later found out it was because he was just buying them in from an external supplier - so off he went and prepared the quote which, when it arrived, was really very cheap but somehow left me cold - why was it so cheap, were the windows going to fall out of their frames the week after they were fitted?? The next to come round was probably the worst - pushy is an understatement - he really made me feel uncomfortable in my own home! ! ! I almost felt obliged to sign there and then just to get rid of him.
