Designed with security in mind

Unfortunately, these days, style and elegance mean nothing unless they are combined with security. Our windows offer the perfect combination.

Whether you are at home or not, you can rest assured that you have chosen a system that is an effective deterrent to unwanted 'guests'. Not only will they deter the opportunist but also offer a highly secure barrier against the most determined burglar.

The double-glazed sealed units are fixed in place using high-security glazing beads which makes them extremely difficult to de-glaze, and with the addition of optional security glazing clips, they are secure to the point where internal glazing simply offers no benefit and so allows the appearance of traditional putty lines to remain.

Security systems for complete peace of mind

The slimline, maintenance-free frames are extremely rigid. Using a material that is considerably stronger than PVCu, they are resistant to distortion and bending and require no additional reinforcement. By their very design and construction all our windows offer excellent security.

Additionally, each vent has a high-security locking system, using the highly regarded Saracen mechanism. So, whatever style you like the look of, you can rest assured that your windows are always safe and secure.

Our  windows and doors afford a high level of security, are glazed securely to comply with the latest industry standards and have  multi-point locking mechanisms as standard.

Some security advice....
To take full advantage of these security features we would recommend the following additional sensible precautions.

Look at your property from a burglar's point-of-view - how would you get in? If your windows and doors haven't overcome all these issues then keep on reading.

Consider investing in a proper burglar alarm and make the most of it - switch it on when you go out and keep the alarm's casing and signage visible.

Don't leave a window open when you go out - you might as well send out invites. Whilst most windows are effectively locked whenever the handle is closed,in cases where you might be away for a while, lock all windows with the key and don't simply hide them away in a draw - leave them near to the windows, or doors, but out of view from the outside in case you need them in a hurry or are a little forgetful!

The Multi point locking system on Doors requires the handles to be lifted fully so as to ensure full engagement of the locking mechanism. Make sure door handles are fully lifted and key locked to operate the locking system - it's no good having plenty of ironmongery on your door if the locks aren't engaged!

Although night ventilation on windows is a good idea, especially for rooms prone to condensation, it's not a good idea to leave them like that if you go away.

Make use of light - burglars hate it. This can be done by installing exterior lights of the sensor type, and a timer switch to turn interior lights on or off if you're away. Don't advertise your absence when you're away for a few days - cancel your milk and papers and only ask someone who knows you to keep an eye on your property.

And finally, if the worst does happen please, please make sure you have adequate home insurance and that your payments are up-to-date.
